Seamless Mobile Onboarding

Direct Mobile Sign-Up

Signing up for Abler is now more straightforward than ever on mobile. Users can register directly from the mobile app using phone numbers or email addresses with one time password (OTP) authentication. Icelandic users will continue to use electronic ID or Auðkenni with kennitala for signing up.

Invite Acceptance for New Users

Users invited to Abler by guardians or coaches will need to accept the invite before logging in with OTP. This ensures secure and verified access for all new members.

Profile Verification and Updates

Email addresses and phone numbers will be marked as verified once authenticated with OTP. When members are invited by a coach or admin, their contact details are stored in the profile but remain unverified until the user accepts the invite or explicitly verifies them in the mobile app. Users can also update their contact information in their profiles using OTP verification, ensuring their profiles always have at least one verified identifier.

Enhanced Invitation Features

Parents can invite their children (under 18) to use the app via email or phone number.

Members can invite their guardians to use the app via email or phone number.

Guardians can invite other guardians via email or phone number.

Coaches can invite members to use the app via email or phone number.

Web Onboarding Made Easy

Expanded Account Creation Options

Users in the UK, Germany, and all Nordic countries can now create Abler accounts using their phone numbers or email addresses, authenticated via a OTP. For our users in Iceland, while the electronic ID remains the primary method for account creation, we’ve added flexibility. Icelandic users can now sign in to existing accounts using OTP, provided they have verified their email addresses or phone numbers in their user profiles.

Simplified Sign-Up Flow

We’ve streamlined the sign-up process on the web, making it quicker and more intuitive. Additionally, we’ve introduced the option to include pronouns during sign-up, allowing users to personalise their profiles further.

Child Invites During Sign-Up

For users signing up their children outside of Iceland, the process is now more integrated. Guardians can invite their children to use the Abler app via email or text message during sign-up. The children will receive a link to accept the invite, enabling them to log in using OTP. Icelandic parents can continue to invite their children through the mobile app.
